Kizomba Semba Weekender II

Join Kizomba RDU as we bring one of the most sought after international Kizomba & Semba artists to the Raleigh-Durham area. We are excited to have the one and only, very talented and knowledgeable "Semba Queen" Lucia Nogueira (Portugal) in the area for a weekend of workshops, dancing and fun!

 

Brayo Judah (Washington DC/Kenya) will also be join us during our weekend for a fun, hip- winding, and energetic Soukous workshop! Soukous is musical genre and dance originating from Congo. You'll love this high-energy class focused on lower body isolations and body movement to help improve dancing to African rythms.

DAY 1
Saturday, Jan 16th | 2pm - 5pm | Triangle Dance Studio - Back Studio

Each workshop is 1.5 Hours

Recommended for Beginners to Advance Levels

Session 1: Kizomba: Playing with Fundamentals

Session 2: Semba: Back to the Roots



Saturday, Jan 16th | KIZ FEVER IV | The Vault at Palace International

Join us as Oscar is on the 1s and 2s playing the best of Kizomba, Tarraxinha, Zouk, Kompa, Semba, Afro House, Salsa Romantica, Bachata and more! 

Time: 9:00pm - 2:00am 

Kizomba Lesson:  9:00pm - 10:00pm
Social dancing from 10:00pm - until


DAY 2
Sunday, Jan 17th | 2pm - 5pm | Triangle Dance Studio - Back  Studio

Recommended for Beginners to Advance Levels

Session 1: Kizomba Flow

Session 2: Semba Footwork

Session 3: Soukous with Brayo Judah



** No partner necessary

** No experience required

** All levels welcome



Note: Salsa/Ballroom shoes are not required. Wear comfortable shoes that do not grip the floor. Sneakers are not recommended for this workshop.
